Heating and cooling are the most important part of your house and it becomes too essential in winters.

Below are some of the safety tips and tricks which one should keep in mind before using heaters at home.

  • Place and space

As its name suggests its usage, heater is the most common thing which we use in winters. It provides warm air using hot coils. Temperature at which these coils work is very high. It can easily catch fire if something comes in contact with it. In that case it becomes important to place your heater at the right place with a lot of space. Doing this has one scientific reason involved. This is because they release warm air and if something is present near it can catch fire. You have to be very specific about this whether you have a split system air conditioner or any other form of heating and cooling unit.

  • Use Automatic Temperature control mode-

No, don't worry if you will use this with caution you will not face a problem. You can explore different modes present on your heater and among it there is one of the most important modes which is automatic temperature control mode. This is a computerized mode which automatically cuts its power supply when temperature is rising at very high speed. This can prevent fire breakdown when no one is there at home to control it. All you can do is switch to automatic mode and relax.

  • Don't keep inflammable substances near it-

Heater works when coils present inside at very high temperature and in this case it becomes necessary that you keep away all inflammable substances. It will reduce the risk of fire.

  • Ensure proper wiring-

As it works on heating principle it consumes huge amounts of electricity at a time. This brings a lot of heavy voltage to the wires at home and makes them heated. Every household has proper wiring at home so that wires don't catch fire easily. It is also advised to do this because doing this can avoid the chances of a shot circuit.

  • Don't leave it unattended-

Many busy households leave heaters and A.C. unattended. All they do is turn it on and leave it in an empty room to get it warmer. Doing this can be very risky as if the heater is left unattended can cause mis happenings like fire at home.

  • Don't keep anything above it-

Due to less space in the room people generally keep things like books and magazines on it. But experts always advise not to do so because papers can easily catch fire if they come in contact with any kind of hot substance. You can keep heaters away from such things.

  • Keep away from the reach of children-

Small kids don't know what is right and what is wrong so it is better to keep such appliances away from the reach of children.
