Cleaning a Shower Curtain to Make It Shine Like New

By Carolina Dickens 2 years ago curtain cleaning

Everyone likes a neat and clean bathroom and shower area. Nobody likes to see brown corners and dirty tiles. Even little patches of yellowish tiles and walls are frowned upon. To avoid this, people clean their bathrooms so often that they remain shiny as new. They don’t let even a single stain. Some people are so obsessive that they clean the bathroom and washroom after every use. But how many of us really even clean our shower curtains or even consider them while cleaning? How many people actually notice that their shower curtains are turning yellow?

So few people clean their shower curtains that there are almost no possible ways on the internet to clean your curtains and make them look better. All you can find on the internet is to replace them with newer curtains so that the bathrooms don’t lose their charms.

Shower curtains do require regular cleaning because they are coated with so much soap and shampoo, also moisture and steam. All this can lead to discoloration and bacterial development of bacterias in the curtains.  You can also hire professional Curtain Cleaning Canberra.

So Let’s Discuss Some Ways on How to Clean Shower Curtains So it Sparkles Like New After Every Cleaning.

Machine Wash:

Carefully remove all the rings from the shower curtains and put them in the washing machine with a mild detergent or warm water or white vinegar. Do not use all of them, just use one of them. Using all of them would cause an eruption in the machine spoiling both your machine and curtains. Also, do not wash all your curtains together. Wash one curtain at a time to ensure proper and regular curtain cleaningYou can check our blog How To Deal With Very Bad Curtain Cleaning.

Hand Wash:

Hand washing is a completely different procedure from machine wash. In a hand washing procedure, you would need a microfiber cloth and some baking soda. Spread your curtain on a plain surface and spread baking soda, let it settle for some time. After it, dampen your microfiber cloth and scrub the curtains properly. Make sure you don’t spread baking soda on all the curtains together because by the time you’ll reach the last portion of the curtain, it will be spoiled. After scrubbing, wash it with warm water. If there are any patches of hard water or soap left, revisit them and scrub them again. This method also leaves a nice scent in the curtains.

Another thing that one can do to protect their shower curtains is to pretreat them. Pretreating them would prevent any scums and mildew patches. To pretreat your curtain, before using them, run them in the rinse cycle of your washing machine with distilled white vinegar with warm water. Make sure that the water is not hot otherwise our curtain will end up melted.

Also, don’t wash your shower curtains too often otherwise they will give a dull look and not be able to give a nice finish. The curtain will lose its shine if washed too often. One should make a goal to clean shower curtains once every three months if nothing less or more. You can check our blog Do You Really Need Professional Services For Cleaning Of Curtains?
